Before medicine, Dr Katherine studied psychology and human resource management. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame Australia in 2014, spending her final year at the Notre Dame Clinical School in Wagga, where she still teaches. She completed her junior years at Wagga Wagga Base Hospital, including an extra year in emergency medicine and obstetrics and gynaecology, and earned her Diploma of Child Health during that time.

Dr Katherine became a Fellow of the RACGP in 2020 and is a business partner at Hammond Health. She is studying a Master of Medicine in Metabolic Health at the University of Sydney, which supports her work in weight management.
