We send text messages to confirm your appointments and to let you know when your doctor would like to see you to discuss a result. Recently, some patients have told us they haven't been receiving these texts. After looking into it, we found that many phones are filtering our messages into a spam or junk folder, so they never appear with your other messages.

The good news is there's a simple fix that takes less than a minute.

Save our text number in your contacts

Phones are far less likely to treat a message as spam when it comes from a saved contact. Please add our text number to your phone:

  1. Open Contacts on your phone and add a new contact

  2. Name: Hammond Health (Texts Only)

  3. Mobile: 0403 165 673

  4. Tap Save

This number is for texts from us only. To speak to us, please call the practice on 02 6936 7020.

Check whether you've already missed a text

If you think you may have missed a message from us, have a look in your phone's spam or junk folder:

  • iPhone: open Messages, tap Filters at the top left, and check Unknown Senders and Junk.

  • Android: open your Messages app, tap the menu, and look for Spam and blocked (or Blocked messages). If you find a message from us, open it and mark it as not spam.

The exact menus vary between phones and software versions. If you can't find them, our reception team is happy to help next time you're in.

Why it matters

If your doctor has asked to see you about a result, we want to make sure you hear from us quickly. Saving our number helps make sure important messages reach you.

If you have any questions, or you've moved or changed your mobile number, please call us on 02 6936 7020 so we can update your details.
