Understanding Your Out-of-Pocket Costs at Hammond Health

Meta Description: Clear breakdown of consultation fees and out-of-pocket costs at Hammond Health, Wagga Wagga. Learn what you'll pay and how Medicare rebates work.

At Hammond Health, we're committed to transparency about our fees. As a private billing practice, you'll have an out-of-pocket cost for consultations, but we want you to know exactly what to expect before you arrive.

Current Fee Information

Our consultation fees vary depending on the length and complexity of your appointment. For our detailed fee schedule, please:

- Download our Practice Fees 2025 PDF from our website

- Call our reception team at 02 6936 7020

- Ask when booking your appointment

How Out-of-Pocket Costs Work

Here's the simple formula:

Your out-of-pocket cost = Our consultation fee - Medicare rebate

Example: If our consultation fee is $95 and the Medicare rebate is $42.85, your out-of-pocket cost would be approximately $52.15.

Payment and Rebate Process

1. At your appointment: Pay the full consultation fee (EFTPOS, credit card, or cash accepted)

2. We process Medicare: We submit your claim electronically through our HICAPs system

3. Rebate deposited: Medicare deposits your rebate directly to your bank account within 24-48 hours

Can I Get a Written Cost Estimate?

Yes! If you're concerned about costs or planning ahead for procedures, our reception team can provide a written estimate. This is particularly helpful for:

- Procedures (skin checks, minor surgery, etc.)

- Longer consultations

- Multiple appointments

- Specialty services like medical cannabis consultations

Simply call 02 6936 7020 and ask for a cost estimate for your specific needs.

Ways to Reduce Your Out-of-Pocket Costs

Medicare Safety Net: If you or your family have high medical costs, you may reach the Medicare Safety Net threshold, which increases your rebates for the rest of the calendar year.

Concession Cards: Valid concession card holders receive higher Medicare rebates, reducing out-of-pocket costs.

Health Insurance: Some consultations or procedures may be partially covered by private health insurance extras cover.
