Can I get a prescription over the phone?Doctors providing prescriptions, referrals to specialists or test results are responsible legally and ethically to ensure these are correct and warranted. Therefore, a consultation with a doctor is generally required. Repeat prescriptions are provided in the course of normal consultations. Your doctor will advise you of when you should return for review of your condition and repeats for your medication. Generally, prescriptions cannot be ordered over the phone, unless specific arrangements have been made with your doctor. There is a charge for this service – $25.00.

I have not heard anything about my test resultIf you have had testing completed and a reasonable amount of time has passed (up to 2 weeks for some tests) please call the practice and our team will try to assist you.

Where can I go for After Hours CareIn the case of an emergency, call 000 Hammond Health is affiliated with Wagga Wagga GP After Hours Service. The service operates Monday – Friday from 7pm – 9pm, Saturday from 6pm – 9pm and Sunday from 9am – 1pm and 5pm – 9pm. A doctor is available by phone from 9pm – 8am daily. Telephone 69 310 900 The Wagga GP After Hours Service is open all public holidays. The emergency Department at Wagga Wagga Base Hospital is open 7 days per week, 24 hours per day. When is Hammond Health open?Hammond Health is open from Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 5.00pm. We are closed weekends, public holidays, and between Christmas and New Year.

Do you have on the day appointments?Hammond Health has on the day appointments each day for urgent medical care, please call the practice at 9.00am to book these.

Can multiple family members be seen at the same time?A separate appointment is usually needed for each member of a family. Please inform staff when booking appointments if more than one family member needs to be seen.

Does Hammond Health accept walk-in patientsHammond Health does not accept walk in appointments. All patients are required to be registered with the practice prior to making appointments.

Can I book appointments online?Once you are a registered patient you can book appointments online for some of our doctors. Some of the doctors can only be booked by calling the practice on 69367020. If you need to book an appointment for a procedure or immunisations please call the practice as these often require specific types of appointments to be booked.

Does Hammond Health have access to interpreters?At Hammond Health we use TIS national for all our interpreting service needs, just let our friendly team know if this would be helpful to organise for your appointments.

What is your cancellation policy?We understand that sometimes life happens and you cannot attend. Simply cancel online through your appointment reminder or give us a call to reschedule. A minimum of 24 hours' notice prior to your appointment is required for cancellation or change of appointment time. Patients not attending or cancelling their appointment within 24 hours of their scheduled appointment will be charged a non-attendance fee of $50 Fees are charged automatically, if you feel you have any extra-ordinary or emergency circumstances, please notify us.

What happens if I cannot pay for an appointment?Our goal is to provide you with the care that you require. If you are experiencing financial pressure, please discuss this with your doctor at the time of your consultation.

What are the fees for Hammond Health?Fees Hammond Health is a private billing practice – We do not Bulk Bill. Please see our fee schedule below. Standard Consultation Up to 14 minutes: $85.00 – Pension $75.00 15 to 19 minutes: $125.00 – Pension $110.00 Long Consultation up to 29 minutes: $155.00 – Pension $140.00 30 to 39 minutes: $185.00 - Pension $160.00 Extended consultation 40 to 49 minutes: $220.00 – Pension $200.00 50 to 60 minutes: $250.00 – Pension $230.00 Appointments that go beyond 60 minutes are charged extra in 15-minute increments at the following rates Standard - $60.00 Pension - $50.00 Repeat Prescriptions: $25.00
